Diversity Inclusion
Diversity and Inclusion
The show is about showing outdoor diversity, inclusion, and showing the people, places, and things we don't traditionally see. For nearly half a century outdoor television has been lacking diversity among America's hunters. It is time for a change. N.onT.ypical Outdoorsman TV is the show to bring hunting and outdoor diversity and inclusion to America; and the world!Preserving our Hunting Heritage
Preserving our Hunting Heritage
The show promotes hunting heritage among America's hunters and inspires new hunters to become part of an American tradition. By promoting hunting, firearms, dogs, and other hunting-related skills, to both adults and youth, we can ensure that hunting continues for generations to come!A native of Talladega, AL who now lives outside of Atlanta, GA, Eric uses his show to engage, inspire, and motivate others to become outdoorsmen. Eric is an outdoor writer, public speaker, hunter education instructor, outdoor television personality, and three-time combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, and a 2022 inductee into the Marquis’s Who’s Who in America registry. Eric has been an outdoorsman and hunter all his life but after 38 years of not seeing racial diversity depicted in outdoor television, Eric decided to be like Nike and “Just do it”. Collaborative talks with other aspiring outdoor television producers resulted in no action, so in the Fall of 2019 Eric launched N.onT.ypical Outdoorsman TV with the goal of it being the most diverse outdoor television show on the planet.
Eric’s focus is on hunting skills, marksmanship, and affordable hunting. He is deeply invested in introducing new hunters to the sport whether they be youth or adults. Eric pays homage to the great Negro woodsmen that came before him and uses nontypical hunting techniques to harvest game such as deer, hog, bear, quail, pheasant, duck, turkey, Alaskan game, African game, small game, and more.
Eric prefers the simple life when it comes to hunting and relies more on skill and wit than the use of technology and science. It’s not about trophy hunting for Eric, it is about putting meat in the freezer, being self-reliant, while teaching others how to be ethical hunters.
